Perry Wins Straw Poll
February 17, 2012

Pennsylvania State Representative. Scott Perry (R-Dillsburg) beat out his six opponents for the 4th Congressional District seat to win a straw poll conducted by York County Chapter of ACTION of Pennsylvania at the Cross Keys Motor Inn near New Oxford.

About 150 members of the conservative political action committee gathered Saturday to hear from the candidates, ask questions and rate them as part of a straw poll.  Perry came out the clear winner of the straw poll.

“This straw poll is a clear indication that my candidacy is starting to resonate with conservative voters.  Our values and individual freedoms are under attack by the Obama Administration.  I am running for Congress to fight for our rights,” said Perry.

As a state legislator, Perry built a record as a solid conservative, including leading the effort to enact the Castle Doctrine into state law.  This measure gives citizens greater rights to protect themselves in their homes.

“Conservative voters will be key to winning this primary.  It’s easy for candidates to say they are conservative.  But I have actually made an impact and Pennsylvanians enjoy greater personal freedoms today as a result.  I will fight to do the same thing in Congress,” said Perry.
